⚾: FSU Selected for 44th-Consecutive NCAA Tournament

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State will be the three-seed in the Auburn Regional, the 44th consecutive season that the Seminoles will play in the baseball tournament, tying an NCAA record.

The Seminoles (33-23) are paired with host Auburn (37-19), the No. 14 national seed. FSU’s opening round opponent will be two-seed UCLA (38-22) and the four-seed is Southland Conference champion Southeastern Louisiana (30-29).

Florida State’s 44 straight tournament appearances – from 1978 to present – is tied for the longest postseason streak in NCAA baseball history. The Noles’ 59 appearances are second all-time, behind Texas’s 61.

The second-longest active streak is Vanderbilt, which has reached 16 straight NCAA tournaments.

The winner of the Auburn Regional will play the winner of the Corvallis Regional, hosted by No. 3 national seed Oregon State.
