FSU Softball Celebrates 30th Anniversary March 14-16

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State will be honoring its storied softball program with an Alumni Weekend on March 14-16. Throughout their history, the Seminoles have been to the Women’s College World Series seven times, claimed 11 ACC Championships, appeared in 26 NCAA Championships and are home to 26 All-Americans. Events will take place for fans and alumni alike throughout the weekend to coincide with the FSU-NC State games on Saturday and Sunday.

On Friday March 14, former FSU softball players are invited to a meet and greet with the current Seminole softball team starting at 5:00 p.m. There will also be a facility tour of the batting cages as well as other parts of the Seminole Softball Complex.

Saturday March 15 will begin with a slow pitch softball game at 12:30 p.m. at JoAnne Graf field. FSU softball alumni can come out and dust off their gloves and re-live some of the glory days with a couple innings of fun. Fans are welcome to come watch and cheer on some former Seminoles as they get back out on the diamond again.

Following the alumni game, there will be a booster-only tailgate in the parking lot behind the scoreboard sponsored by the Dugout Club, the FSU Softball booster organization. If you would like to join the Dugout Club, contact Derril Beech at 850-645-8296 or email her at

The tailgate will lead into a doubleheader between the 2013 ACC regular season champion Florida State Seminoles and the 2013 ACC Tournament champion NC State Wolfpack. The first game will start at 5:00 p.m., and the second will start 30 minutes following the completion of the first.

Softball alumni will also be honored on the field in a special ceremony prior to the NC State game on Sun., March 16 at 12:00 p.m.

The 2014 `Noles are on the road this weekend as they open ACC play against Virginia. Florida State will play a double header on Sat., March 8 starting at 1:00 p.m. and a single game on March 9 at 11:00 a.m. All three games will be played in Charlottesville, Va.
