FSU Student-Athletes Reach Out To Iraqi School Children

Dec. 3, 2004

On Wednesday, December 3rd, student-athletes from FSU’s softball and men’s track and field teams participated in an event to help Iraqi school children. Each team spent their own money to purchase much needed school supplies for children in Iraq who are struggling to keep their schools going.

The event was coordinated by Adam Fortner, events coordinator for the FSU Middle East Peace Association. NBC News interviewed Tatiana George from women’s softball and Joscelyn Worrell from men’s track and field.

The event was a great success campus wide, and the student-athletes were proud to be a part of it.
