TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 20 Florida State women’s tennis team (4-4) will be giving back to the community as it hosts “Serve it with the Noles” Sunday, February 21, in its match against No. 58 LSU at 11 a.m. at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Fans are encouraged to join the Seminoles in bringing canned goods for donation.
“It’s been nearly a month since we’ve competed at home and I know this team is ready to take full advantage of playing in front of our wonderful home crowds,” FSU Head Coach Jennifer Hyde said. “We play LSU home and away each year, and each time we play them the matches are very exciting.”
In just the second home match of the dual-match season, Florida State looks to continue the momentum after an exciting upset over No. 13 Tennessee last weekend at the Indoor Championships.
FSU leads the all-time series record against LSU 8-6 with the last meeting being in 2009 where the `Noles tamed the Tigers on the road 5-2. The victory was FSU’s third-consecutive win over LSU.
“They are a very good and a solid SEC team and I’m sure they would like to come in here this weekend and offset the tough loss they took from us this time last year,” Coach Hyde added. “We expect to be tested by LSU, and we have to take the momentum from our win against No.13 Tennessee in to this weekend.”
