TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State Women’s Soccer team faced LSU on Sunday in its second spring exhibition match of the season inside the Seminole Soccer Complex.

The two schools played three 30 minute segments with the Seminoles winning the first two segments by identical scores of 1-0, while the Tigers took the third 2-1. Florida State finished the afternoon with a 3-2 overall aggregate advantage.

Kacy Scarpa notched Florida State’s first goal of the day putting away a rebound from close range off an initial shot from Cheyna Williams in the 20th minute of Sunday’s first 30-minute period.

Florida State scored the only goal in the second 30-minute period when Berglind Thorvaldsdottir found the back of the net off a pass from Michaela Hahn.

The final 30-minute period belonged to LSU as the Tigers scored two late goals for a 2-1 advantage. The Seminoles went on top early on a goal by Hahn in the seventh minute of play. Williams assisted on the play finding Hahn to give FSU a one-goal lead. LSU responded with two goals in a span of four minutes to take the lead. Summer Clarke tied the contest at one putting away a cross from six yards out. Clarke then found Rebecca Pongetti for the go ahead goal from about 20 yards out in the 14th minute.

Both Cassie Miller and Caroline Brockmeier saw action between the posts for the Seminoles on Sunday afternoon.
