FSU Volleyball Closes Out First Half Of ACC Play At Duke, Wake Forest

FSU Volleyball Briefs: The Florida State volleyball team (5-12, 3-6 ACC) closes out the first half of ACC play on the road this week with matches at Duke (Thurs.), Wake (Fri.) and Miami (Tues.)…First serve for all three matches is scheduled for 7pm…The Wake Forest and Miami matches will have live stats via the Internet and the `Canes will also provide an audio broadcast…The Seminoles went 1-2 last week with a strong victory against Virginia Tech (3-0) and losses versus Miami (3-1) and Virginia (3-1)…On the season, senior Andreza Santos sports a team-best .239 hitting percentage and a second-best 3.09 digs per game…senior Kristen Rust paces the offense with 3.12 kills per game and a second-best 2.98 digs per game…In the latest ACC rankings, junior setter Jessica Skower is seventh in assists (10.73) and sophomore Summer Weissing ranks sixth in digs per game (4.23)…In ACC only matches, Santos is ranked tenth in hitting, Skower is fifth in assists and fifth in aces, junior Sarah Griffin is seventh in aces and Weissing holds the fifth spot in digs per game.  The Seminole’s team hitting percentage is slowly rising as FSU now hits .184 while its opponents average a higher .210 mark.
