The Florida State volleyball team hosts first-place Maryland Sunday live on Sun Sports…The Seminoles picked up their sixth win of the season against Boston College in five games Friday night…During the match junior Sarah Griffin recorded a career and team-season-best seven service aces…Griffin, who entered the contest Friday ranked fifth in the conference in serving with 0.38 a/g, put herself in position to possibly take over the top spot in the league…On the season, senior Andreza Santos sports a team-best .280 hitting percentage and a team-best 3.26 kills per game…She is ranked 10th in hitting percentage in the ACC…Santos registered a career-high 20 kills against the Eagles Friday…Florida State uses two setters in rotation with Jessica Skower (9.82 apg) playing the front row and junior Zrinka Tomic (5.75 apg) in the back…Tomic returned Friday after missing 11 straight matches with a stress fracture (foot)…Freshman standout Marrita Royster-Crockett is most likely out for the season…She is wearing a hard cast on her foot…The one area the Seminoles really excel is blocking, as FSU out-blocks opponents 2.72 – 2.62 per game…In fact, the team tallied a season-best 20.0 blocks Friday…FSU hits .178 on the season; opponents manage a .197 mark.
