TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The College Swim Coaches Association of America released its latest national dual meet top 25 poll this weekend, ranking the Florida State women’s swimming and diving team No. 20 and the men’s squad No. 25. The No. 20 ranking is the highest ever for the Lady Seminoles.
Both the FSU women and men are coming off impressive performances at the Georgia Invitational held Dec. 6 and 7, which garnered the high rankings. The Lady Seminoles finished second, just behind No. 3 Georgia and ahead of No. 24 Penn State, who was ranked No. 21 at the time of the meet. The men narrowly placed second behind No. 13 Georgia, but ahead of No. 17 Penn State and No. 19 Alabama.
The FSU men, who are ranked for the first time since 1999, are tied at No. 25 with fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Georgia Tech. The Seminoles defeated the Yellow Jackets earlier this year, 144.5-98.5.
FSU is currently down in the Florida Keys for training and competition with other universities such as Ohio State and Tennessee.
