FSU’s Xavier Luscan Falls To No. 7 Seed At USTA Tallahassee Tennis Challenger

TALLAHASSEE, FL.–Florida State’s No.1 player Xavier Luscan of the men’s tennis team fought hard this afternoon but could not pull off an upset against 7th seeded Robert Kendrick in the first round of the USTA Tallahassee Tennis Challenger. Luscan, who received a wild-card into the singles main draw, lost the first set 6-4, but went up a break in the second set before dropping it, 6-4. The straight set victory takes 256th-ranked Kendrick into the second round where he is scheduled to take on Matthew Breen of Australia.

Two Seminoles will be in action tomorrow, June 6th, as the tandem of Alex Herrera and Jarrod Owen take on the No. 4 seeded team of Brandon Hawk and Robert Kendrick in the first round of the doubles main draw. Starting time for this match has not yet been announced.
