TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Throughout the fall, will take a closer look at this year’s class of newcomers. The 12th and final ‘Getting To Know’ segment of the year features freshman forward Berglind Thorvaldsdottir from Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland.

Florida State welcomes 12 new players in 2012 including 11 freshmen and one transfer. Two student-athletes joined the Seminoles a semester early enrolling during the spring 2012 semester, while this year’s class also includes four international players.

What one word comes to mind when you hear Florida State Soccer?

Where has been your favorite place to visit?
Paris, France

Who is your biggest role model?
My brother

Favorite soccer team?
Manchester United

What kind of pillow do you have and what is its name?
I don´t have a pillow pet now but I might get one.

Biggest soccer moment?
When I played my first full national game at 18 years old. It was against USA and we got a penalty kick in additional time and the coach screamed my name. I freaked out because the goalkeeper was Hope Solo, the best goalkeeper in the world. Unfortunately, for the team and myself, I missed. But this is definitely
one of my biggest soccer moments and hopefully I will be able to make up for this.

My iPod

Why did you choose Florida State?
