Golf Takes Second Place In Lady Seminole Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The Florida State Lady Seminole golf team shot a
294 today to finish in second place of the Lady Seminole Invitational at
the Seminole Golf Course. The Lady Seminoles started the day in third
place, behind the University of Kentucky. The Tribe surpassed the
Wildcats with the help of junior Louise Wright and freshman Kristin
Tamulis. Both Lady Seminoles shot a 70, which was the low round of the
day. Wright finished the day in second place, while Tamulis moved from
12th to seventh place for the tournament.

Mississippi State University ran away with the team championship,
beating FSU by 41 strokes. The Lady Bulldogs had four golfers in the top
five and posted a team low 292. After completing the day’s final round,
Pia Josefsson and Lina Thoren of Mississippi State University were tied for
first place with 216 points a piece. Thoren defeated Josefsson in a

FSU senior Laura Kowalski and freshman Beth McCumber finished 16th
and 22nd, respectively. Other top finishers for FSU were Stacey Burgin
(26th) and Alison Zimmer (35th). Kelley Winship and Kristen Sanborn tied
for 40th place to round out the finishers for Florida State.
