Florida State men’s basketball head coach Leonard Hamilton, who led the Seminoles to the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, will be a featured coach on a five-part special hosted by senior writer Andy Katz on August 18, at 5 p.m. on ESPNU. Katz sat down with 31 NCAA head coaches at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando to discuss the biggest topics on the college game today. The in-depth discussions will air as a five-part series televised daily at 5p.m. beginning Aug 15 and running through Aug. 19.

Katz, one of the foremost experts on college basketball, sat down with some of the top coaches in the nation during the July recruiting period to discuss a number of wide-ranging topics including pay-for-play, the NBA Draft, recruiting and the trend of mid-majors competing for the national title. The SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Big East were all touched upon as leading conferences.

Hamilton is one of six ACC coaches who will appear on one of the five shows. In addition to Hamilton, Katz exchanged ideas with Jim Larranaga of Miami (Aug, 16, 5 p.m.), Brian Gregory of Georgia Tech (Aug. 17, 5 p.m.), Mark Gottfried of NC State (Aug. 17, 5 p.m.), Seth Greenberg of Virginia Tech (Aug. 17, 5 p.m.) and Roy Williams of North Carolina (Aug. 19, 5 p.m.).

Florida State opens its 2011-12 schedule on Nov. 11 at the Donald L. Tucker Center and will play at Michigan State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Nov 30 at 7:30 p.m. The Seminoles will also play host to College Basketball GameDay presented by State Farm on Jan. 14, when the North Carolina Tar Heels come to Tallahassee for a 2 p.m. game that will be nationally televised by ESPN.
