TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State redshirt senior pitcher Chase Haney was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team Thursday. The organization recognizes the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
With the season ending early due to Covid-19, the 2020 spring awards recognize student-athlete on-field accomplishments throughout the players’ entire career.
Haney, from Winter Garden, Fla., was 3-0 in 2020 with a 1.29 earned run average while leading the NCAA with 12 pitching appearances. His three wins were the most on the team.
For his career, Haney finished 13-4 with a 2.89 ERA in 107 appearances, the fifth-most relief appearances in FSU history.
Academically, Haney earned his commercial entrepreneurship degree in 2019 and will earn his sport management Master’s degree in 2020.
Haney is attempting to become the 17th CoSIDA All-American in FSU baseball history and the first since 2015.
