Hey Seminole fans! This is Briar Stanley and Kelly Hensley reporting from the locker room for the last time during our season. We just finished up our year last weekend (May 22) in the NCAA Athens Regional. We had two good wins over UAB (13-0) and Georgia State (6-1) on Saturday when we needed to keep our season alive, but we fell to Georgia on Sunday. We weren’t ready for the season to end, but we had a great run over the last few weeks which included an ACC Championship! It was a tremendous experience playing for the Garnet and Gold, and it feels even better that we can look back on the year and see how proud we made the athletic department, our families, friends and fans in bringing home a conference crown!

Many of us are heading home for the summer, but we can’t wait to get back in the fall and start working for next season! Thanks for all of your support! Next year should be even better with the talent we have in place as well as what we’ve got coming in. The 2012 edition of FSU softball figures to be pretty special. As we continue to follow ESPN’s extended coverage of the NCAA softball championship, we expect to be in that same situation next year. Each of us will look to improve in every facet of the game and do the Seminole Nation proud once again!

Some of our teammates will share our duties by bringing you all some insight into what is going on in the Seminole softball world this summer! It’s been a fun year for both of us writing our blog and giving the fans some perspective. Right now, it’s time to head home and soak in some relaxation before we all get back to work.

The FSU softball team would also like to wish a Happy Memorial Day to everyone. We appreciate the services of our troops and will keep in mind that the upcoming holiday is for them!
