Heath, Wallin, Williamson Earn W. Golf All-ACC Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State’s Charlotte Heath, Beatrice Wallin and Amelia Williamson have been named to the All-ACC Women’s Golf Team marking the second time in school history – and second time under Head Coach Amy Bond – that three or more Seminoles have earned all-conference honors.  Wallin is the fourth player in school history to earn All-ACC honors three or more times (2019, 2021, 2022), while Heath is now a two-time All-ACC honoree and Williamson has earned the honor for the first time in her career.

For the Seminoles, it marks the second time in school history that at least three golfers have been named to the All-ACC team in the same season.  Florida State had a school-record four players – Matilda Castren, Lydia Gumm, Kim Metraux and Morgane Metraux – earn All-ACC honors in 2017.

“We are so happy for each of our three players who were named to the 2022 All-ACC team,” said Bond.  “Each of the three players have been vital to our success this season, and it’s great to see them receive the recognition they have earned with their play on the course.  Not only are Charlotte, Bea and Amelia terrific golfers, but they are all wonderful people who continue to grow as women as much as they have grown as golfers during their careers at Florida State.”

Wallin, who enters the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Championship ranked second in school history with a 71.13 career stroke average, has now earned All-ACC honors in 2019, 2021 and 2022.  The league did not select an All-ACC team in 2020.  Wallin joins a select group of Seminole golfers that includes Matilda Castren (2014, 2016, 2017), Kristin Tamulis (2001, 2002, 2003) and Caroline Westrup (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009) as Seminoles who have earned All-ACC honors at least three times.

Heath, who is ranked fourth in school history with a career stroke average of 72.57, is now a two-time honoree.  She has earned the honor as both a freshman and a sophomore, joining only Westrup as the Seminoles who have earned All-ACC honors in both of their first two seasons in Tallahassee.  Heath has earned four top-10 finishes this year, including a tied for fifth place finish at the Valspar Augusta Invitational and a tied for 10th place finish at the ACC Championship.

Williamson is the Seminoles’ leader with her career-best 71.91 stroke average this season.  She earned the honor for the first time in her career and is the 24th different Florida State player to earn All-ACC honors since the Seminoles joined the league in1992.  Williamson earned her first career individual championship at the Florida State Match Up in February, and has also earned four top 10 finishes this year.

Bond, who herself was an All-ACC honoree in 1998, has had at least one player selected to the All-ACC team each year the team has been picked during her 12 seasons as Florida State’s coach.  A total of 21 Seminoles have earned All-ACC honors in her 12 seasons as the Seminoles’ head coach.

“The girls certainly deserve all the credit for performing on the course and earning All-ACC honors,” said Bond.  “I am also happy for our staff – Robert Duck and Justin Fetcho – who work with all of our girls every day to help them all become All-ACC caliber players.  This is a great group of coaches to work with; a group that loves coaching and working with our players.”

Florida State plays host to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course, May 9-11.  Admission to the championship and parking at the site are both free.

In 31 years in the league, Florida State has had 39 All-ACC selections and has had at least one All-ACC selection each of the last 21 seasons the All-ACC Women’s Golf team has been selected.  With three selection in 2022, the Seminoles have earned multiple selections 10 times since the 2001 season.
