Florida State alum Steeve Gabart will participate in the Run For Haiti this weekend in New York City. The race is set for Saturday at 9 a.m.

Gabart was an ACC Champion a year ago for the Seminoles as he captured the 10000m run at the outdoor track and field championships and helped fuel the Seminole squad to its fifth consecutive ACC Outdoor Championship title.

“I feel honored they selected me to run the race,” Gabart said. “Coach Braman prepares you for stuff like this every day.”

All entry fees for the Run for Haiti are going directly to New York City’s Haiti Relief Fund. New York City’s Haiti Relief Fund was established to provide a secure vehicle for donations to aid the victims of the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

“I just want to go out there and run the four miles,” Gabart added. “It feels good to be a Seminole.”

To make a donation call 311 or visit www.nyc.gov/fund. To mail a donation, checks can be made payable to the Mayor’s Fund, One Centre Street, 23rd Floor, New York, NY 10007 (note: Haiti Relief Fund).

For additional information on the race including registration details, please visit the New York Road Runners’ website at www.nyrr.org.
