Iradukunda and Whitehurst Twins Sweep ACC Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State men’s tennis swept the ACC Honors this week, with senior Guy Iradukunda taking home home ACC Player of the Week and seniors Terrance and Terrell Whitehurst taking home Doubles pair of the Week after an upset win over No. 8 Florida in Lake Nona, Fla. as part of the USTA’s College MatchDay event live on the tennis channel.

“We are really excited that Guy got player of the week and Terrance and Terrell Whitehurst got doubles pair of the week,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist, “It was a total team effort down in Lake Nona in front of almost 2,000 people. We are thrilled to have won both awards and we are looking forward to playing again this weekend.”

Iradukunda earned his first ACC honor of his college career after a straight-set win on court one against eighth-ranked Johannes Ingildsen 7-6 (10), 6-3 to tie the match at 3-3.

The Whitehurst twins earned their first ACC Doubles Pair of the week as well. The duo took down Florida’s No. 11 ranked doubles pair of Oliver Crawford and Chase Perez-Blanco 7-6 (3) to clinch the doubles point for the Noles.
