Florida State men’s basketball coach Leonard Hamilton encourages young Seminole basketball fans to join the Junior Noles Basketball Club for the upcoming season. The members of the club will receive the opportunity to participate in four teaching seminars on basketball fundamentals given by the Seminole staff and players and the chance to play on Florida State’s home court during the Seminoles’ game against Texas A&M Corpus Christi Jan. 6.
The Junior Noles Club is open to boys in kindergarten through eighth grade and will meet and practice at the brand new Florida State Basketball Training Center. The four teaching sessions are scheduled for Dec. 14th and 21st from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and January 5th and 19th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The members of the club will then play in front of their family and friends at halftime of the Seminoles’ home game vs. Texas A&M Corpus Christi.
The Junior Noles Club is limited to the first 200 paid participants with a cost of $60 per student. With this fee, each student will receive: four teaching sessions on basketball fundamentals with instruction by the Florida State University coaches and players, free admission to one Florida State home game, a Junior Noles tee shirt and a Seminoles basketball.
In addition, Hamilton will lecture during the four teaching sessions on healthy lifestyles, goal setting, academic success and building self-esteem. Parents are welcome to participate in the clinic sessions with their children.
