TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Florida State Associate Head Coach Stan Jones, who helped the Seminoles win the ACC Championship and earn a No. 4 final National Ranking in 2020, will participate in the prestigious 2020 TopConnect Virtual Seminar taking place on June 11 and 12. The program has identified the top assistant basketball coaches in the nation and gives them a platform to share leadership experiences and connect with a prominent panel of head coaches, sport influencers and extremely successful business leaders share their experiences.
This year’s presenters include 2020 National Coach of the Year Anthony Grant of Dayton, new Wake Forest Head Coach Steve Forbes, Hall of Fame Coach Muffet McGraw from Notre Dame, Hall of Fame Coach and current University of Tennessee Athletic Director, Phillip Fulmer and three-time NFL Coach of the Year, Mike Smith. A panel of Division 1 University Presidents organized by ETSU’s President Dr. Brian Noland will discuss basketball’s role from the CEO perspective.
“I am humbled and grateful to be included in this program,” said Jones. “It’s a chance for me to continue to grow, listen to new ideas and learn about what other coaches and administrators are doing to make themselves successful at their schools. It gives me an opportunity to see new ways to do things and to be ready for things that come your way as a coach in today’s world.
Since the inception of Villa 7 (now TopConnect), the program has spawned numerous Division 1 head coaches including Grant, Buzz Williams (Texas A & M), Shaka Smart (Texas), Forbes, Rodney Terry (UTEP), John Groce (Akron), Kevin Keatts (NC State) and Greg Gary (Mercer), Brett Nelson (Holy Cross) and Bryan Mullins (Southern Illinois).
