Lady Seminoles Swim Strong In Opening Day Of Georgia Invitational

The lady Seminoles swim team put in a great performance in the first day of the Georgia Invitational as they totaled seven B-cut performances and two first-place finishes. The Seminoles were lead by senior Elizabeth Parkinson, junior Emma Dutton and sophomore Emily Breen. Also turning in key performances for the Seminoles today were juniors, Rachel Dong, Loren Hansen and Andree-Anne LeRoy.

Dutton, Breen, Parkinson and Dong put together a B-cut time of 1:32.15 and took first-place in the 200-yard freestyle relay, then teamed up again in the 400-yard medley relay to take a second-place finish with a B-cut time of 3:43.72 earning big points for the Seminoles. Dutton then went on to win the 200-yard individual medley by a time of 2:01.71 and was followed closely by LeRoy with a time of 2:01.90. Both Dutton and LeRoy earned B-cuts with those times.

Individual B-cut times were also recorded today by Hansen, Breen and Parkinson. Hansen put together a second-place time of 4:50.18 in the 500-yard freestyle while Breen (23.39) and Parkinson (23.57) finished three and four in the 50-yard freestyle.

The Lady Seminoles will be back in action tomorrow, Dec. 7th as the second day of the Georgia Invitational is set begin at 9:30a.m. with the finals starting at 5:00p.m.
