SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – Senior Jamie Li came to play on Saturday at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate. The Bath, England, native produced a 2-under 68 to lead the way for Florida State Men’s Golf at the Mirabel Golf Club.
Li registered seven birdies in the second round of the tournament, recording a 33 on the back nine and a 35 on the front nine. He was the only Seminole on Saturday to shoot under par, and leads FSU overall with an even-par score to tie for 44th.
Sophomore Calvin Sierota followed with a 1-over 71 in the second round, and is shooting 5-over for the tournament and tied for 62nd. Sierota carded a 33 on the front nine to help bolster his day, adding four birdies overall.
Redshirt freshman Cole Anderson, who debuted with an impressive 66 on Friday, is tied for 53rd at 2-over. He shot a 76 on Saturday, while sophomore Alberto Martinez shot a 75 and junior Parker Reddig shot a 78.
At the Mea Lanakila Individual Tournament, freshman Fletcher Wunderlich moved up two spots to tie for 19th at 5-over (76-73), while senior Greyson Porter is tied for 26th at 10-over (75-79).
Florida State is last among the 15-team field in the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, shooting 10-over on Saturday. FSU is 13-over (283-290) through the first two rounds of the tournament.
FSU continues play in the final round of the Maui Jim Intercollegiate on Sunday.
