COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Florida State senior Xavier Luscan lost a second set tiebreak to complete his career as a Seminole this afternoon at the Texas A & M Tennis Center. In the first round, Luscan defeated Andrew Park, also a senior at the University of Southern California, which was the winner of the 2002 team championship. Wednesday’s win advanced Luscan to today’s second round match against Andy Leber.
Luscan’s second round match against Leber, a senior from the University of Texas at Arlington, proved to tough as Leber, the No. 6 seed in the tournament, had only lost 2 of his 43 matches in the 2001-2002 season. After falling to Leber 6-2, Luscan fought back in the second set, causing the decision to be made in a tiebreaker. Leber won the tiebreak 7-3, to take the match and advance to the round of 16.
