(seminoles.com) — Florida State, which holds the longest current winning streak in the ACC at five consecutive victories, travels to play at Miami on Saturday, January 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla. The Seminoles won the first meeting between the two teams just 11 days ago, 65-64, as redshirt senior guard RayQuan Evans made two free throws with 0.8 seconds remaining in the Seminoles’ win at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The Seminoles arrive in Coral Gables with an eight-game winning streak against the Hurricanes. Florida State has won each of the meetings between the two teams since a 101-90 win on January 27, 2018 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The Seminoles current five-game winning streak began in January 8 with a win over Louisville and includes victories over the Cardinals (January 8, 79-70), the Hurricanes (January 11, 65-64), at Syracuse (January 15, 76-71), No. 5 Duke (January 18, 79-78 in overtime) and against UNF (January 20, 86-73). Following Saturday’s game against Miami, the Seminoles travel to play at Georgia Tech on January 26 at 9:00 p.m. in the first meeting of the season between the two teams.

ACC SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE MATTHEW CLEVELAND WITH FIRST CAREER 20-10 DOUBLE DOUBLE
ACC Sixth Man of the Year candidate Matthew Cleveland earned his second career double with a 21-point and 10- rebound performance in Florida State’s 86-73 win over North Florida on Thursday in Tallahassee. His first career double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in Florida State 83-81 win at NC State on January 1, 2022 earned Cleveland ACC Freshman of the Week honors for the first time in his career on January 3 from the ACC Office. Cleveland’s double double against UNF is the first 20-10 double double since Mfiondu Kabengele earned a double double of 21 points and 10 rebounds against Vermont in the NCAA Tournament on March 21, 2019. Cleveland’s performance against the Ospreys is the first double double by a true freshman Seminole since Jonathan Isaac totaled 23 points and 10 rebounds in Florida State’s 83-80 win over Notre Dame in Tallahassee on January 18, 2017.

FLORIDA STATE PLAYING FOR A SIX-GAME WINNING STREAK
A sixth consecutive win would mark Florida State’s longest winning streak since the Seminoles won 10 consecutive games from December 8, 2018 through January 25, 2020. The Seminoles won six consecutive ACC games during that stretch.
FLORIDA STATE’S CURRENT WINNING STREAK
Florida State enters Saturday’s game against Miami having won five straight and seven of its last eight games since a 97-60 win over Lipscomb on December 15, 2021. Following their game against Wake Forest on January 4 in Winston-Salem, the Seminoles were 7-5 overall, 1-2 in ACC play and in a tie for ninth in the ACC standings. Entering Saturday’s game against Miami, the Seminoles are 12-5 overall, 5-2 in ACC play and alone in second place in the ACC standings.

The Seminoles are 6-1 in the month of January with five ACC victories (over NC State, Louisville, Miami, at Syracuse and at Duke) and one non-conference win (over UNF).
