TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida State senior diver Landon Marzullo became the first diver in 2010-11 to earn ACC Performer of the Week honors on Tuesday. Marzullo was instrumental in the 19th-ranked Seminoles victory against Clemson on Saturday.

“I think Landon deserves this award because he is one of our most consistent scorers and one of the best divers in the ACC,” diving coach Patrick Jeffrey said. “He works very hard and I’m glad everything came together for him over the weekend and I’m looking forward to a great end of the season.”

Marzullo clinched first place in both the one- and three-meter diving events as Florida State defeated Clemson 187-113 in league dual meet action. The Columbus, Ohio, native led a FSU one-two-three finish in both events as the Seminoles outscored the Tigers 32-2 on the diving boards. The 403.65 on the three-meter was a season best for Marzullo, and he scored a 360.15 on the one-meter. Both marks qualified for NCAA Zones.

Marzullo is the third Seminole to earn ACC Performer of the Week honors in 2010-11. Senior Rob Holderness and freshman Tiffany Oliver earned the award after defeating Florida in November.

Florida State returns to the pool on Saturday, January 22, as the Seminoles travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to take on Alabama at 11:00 a.m. For a meet preview, log on to www.seminoles.com.
