ATHENS, Ga.- Senior Landon Marzullo became the first Seminole to earn a berth to the NCAA Championships on Thursday with a victory on the one-meter at the NCAA Zone B Championships in Athens, Ga.

“I’m so excited for Landon,” diving coach Patrick Jeffrey said. “He was really solid and didn’t miss a dive all day.”

Marzullo earned a 12-dive total of 757.75 to earn the victory. The Columbus, Ohio native was consistent throughout the competition, never earning a score lower than six on any of his dives. He took the lead on the second dive of the meet, a forward three-and-a-half somersault and never looked back.

“It will be fun to watch him dive over the next two days now that there is no pressure,” Jeffrey said. “He’s such a resilient diver after finishing runner-up at ACC’s and he keeps getting better as the season goes on. This gives him a lot of momentum heading into the NCAA meet.”

Seniors Jordan Horsley and Mike Neubacher also made the finals of the event finishing in 10th (634.35) and 12th (621.15) respectively. Freshman Tom Neubacher placed 25th in the prelims (274.40) and sophomore Nick Klein finished 41st (220.80).

On the women’s side, senior Katherine Adham was the highest Seminole finisher on the three-meter. Her 12-dive total of 610.15 was good enough for seventh-place. Freshman Kelsey Goodman placed ninth (607.25) and junior Lisi Rowland was 14th (578.45).

Competition continues on Friday with the men’s three-meter and women’s one-meter. For a link to live results log onto
