Men’s Basketball Banquet Set For April 10

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Head Coach Leonard Hamilton and his staff will celebrate the outstanding 2018-19 season by the Seminole men’s basketball team as it hosts its annual Honors Banquet on April 10, 2019 in the Dunlap Champions Club. The event begins with a social hour at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and the awards program set to begin at 7:00 p.m.

The Seminoles enjoyed one of the greatest seasons in school history as they played in their third consecutive NCAA Tournament, advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the school-record tying second consecutive season, finished the season ranked 10th nationally, advanced to the championship game of the ACC Tournament, finished fourth in the ACC standings and defeated six nationally ranked teams.

Florida State won a program record 29 games and earned a school-record 13 ACC wins in finishing fourth in the best conference for college basketball in the country. The Seminoles defeated Virginia, who will play in the NCAA Final Four, in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament to reach the championship game of the ACC Tournament for the third time in school history.

Hamilton and his staff will honor the careers of seniors Phil Cofer, Christ Koumadje, Terance Mann, David Nichols and PJ Savoy – the winningest senior class in school history. The group, who will all earn their degrees from Florida State this spring, led the Seminoles to the Elite Eight of the 2018 NCAA Tournament and to the Sweet 16 of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Admission for the event is $50 – please RSVP to Renee Andrews in the basketball office at (850) 644-1461 or by emailing ath-mbbinfo@fsu.edu. Parking is free at the University Center Club visitor’s lots just outside of the stadium.

Plan now to celebrate one of the most historic seasons in school history and the special players who continue to elevate to program on a national level.
