Florida State University men’s cross country team had a very strong showing at the Crimson Classic Cross Country Invitational held at the University of Alabama. The University of South Florida won the team title with 50 points.
Sophomore Nick Stuart led the Seminoles with a 22nd place finish and a time of 24:57 over the rolling hills of Harry Pritchet Gold Course. Sophomore Ryan Hicks followed his teammate to a fast time of 25:12 and good enough of 33rd place. Freshmen Danny Fritz had a breakthrough performance with his 40th place finish and a time of 25:19. Tommy Kunish followed closely behind in 43rd place in a time of 25:22. Rounding out the Seminole’s top five was Brian Fleishmann in 46th place and a time of 25:26.
The Noles finished 6th out of 23 teams, only 20 points behind nationally ranked University of Alabama.
