TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Another fall season for Florida State Men’s Golf means another trip to Olympia Fields Country Club. The Seminoles make their visit to the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational for the 13th straight year as they tee off Friday at one of the nation’s premier tournaments.
Back in the lineup for Florida State will be junior John Pak, who missed the season-opening Maui Jim Intercollegiate due to his travels back from the Walker Cup in England. Pak anchors a Seminole squad that looks to show improvement from last week’s tournament that was played in Scottsdale, Ariz.

FSU competes against some of the nation’s top teams this weekend. Also part of the playing field are Alabama, Baylor, California, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, UNLV, North Carolina, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Texas and Texas A&M.
Traveling with the Seminoles, aside from Pak, are seniors Jamie Li and Greyson Porter, sophomore Calvin Sierota, redshirt freshman Cole Anderson and freshman Fletcher Wunderlich.
Li was the standout at last week’s Maui Jim Intercollegiate. He progressively got better as the tournament went along, shooting a 3-under 207 (72-68-67) to tie for 24th. He tied for eighth in the field with 14 birdies.

Sierota also hopes to continue his trend of lowering scores, carding a 4-over 214 (74-71-69) at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate but getting better as the weekend progressed. The Melbourne, Fla., native offers a lot of promise and has a chance to be a prominent golfer for the program.
Tee times begin on Friday at 9 a.m. ET, as well as 9 a.m. on Saturday and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. Olympia Fields Country Club has been home to many big tournaments at the professional level, and is preparing to host the 2020 PGA TOUR FedEx Cup Playoffs.
All live scoring can be found on Golfstat.com. Florida State’s next tournament will be played Oct. 7-8 at the Jack Nicklaus Collegiate Invitational held at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
