NASSAU, BAHAMAS (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Golf team gets to finish its fall season in the Caribbean as it competes in the White Sands Invitational held at The Ocean Club from Nov. 1-3.
Traveling for the Seminoles will be redshirt freshman Cole Anderson, seniors Jamie Li, junior John Pak, sophomores Alberto Martinez and Calvin Sierota and junior Parker Reddig.
The White Sands Invitational includes a tough 15-team field, featuring #2 Wake Forest, #3 SMU, #23 Arkansas, #28 Houston #46 UAB, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Illinois State, Louisiana Tech, Miami (Ohio), Middle Tennessee, Northern Illinois, Samford and Wisconsin.
All three rounds played Nov. 1-3 will begin with a shot-gun start at 8 a.m. ET. The Ocean Club is a par-72, 7,159-yard course.
Through two stroke-play tournaments, Li leads the Seminoles with a 69.50 scoring average and owns a Top-5 finish at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational. Pak is second on FSU with a 71.00 scoring average, while Anderson is not too far behind at 72.67.
Florida State’s most recent showing came in a match play tournament, splitting at the Jack Nicklaus Collegiate Invitational. FSU fell to Duke, 4.5-1.5, but rebounded to defeat Ohio State, 3.5-2.5.
Following this weekend’s tournament, the Seminoles open the spring season Feb. 10 at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate.
