Men’s Golf Hosts Camp Creek Seminole Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – The long-awaited 2021 NCAA spring season tees off with an entertaining ACC-only event as Florida State Men’s Golf plays host to the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational on Jan. 17-19 at Camp Creek Golf Club in Watersound, Florida.

The tournament, which is being played near Panama City, features 10 schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference in Florida State, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. The exciting field will serve as a prelude to this year’s ACC Championship.

“We are extremely proud to be starting our golf season at one of the top golf courses in the state of Florida, Camp Creek Golf Club,” FSU Head Coach Trey Jones said. “The St. Joe Company has been a great partner with our university and we are proud to showcase what The Clubs by Joe has to offer.”

Camp Creek Golf Club is home to one of the top courses in Northwest Florida. The nearly 7,200-yard picturesque area offers a view of the green from every tee box and invites a different play from traditional Florida courses by including few flat lies and tiered and fast-rolling greens.

Competing for the Seminoles will be graduate transfer Vincent Norrman, senior John Pak, freshman Brett Roberts, graduate student Greyson Porter, senior transfer Connor Futrell and redshirt sophomore Cole Anderson.

Norrman, Pak and Roberts tee off at 11:10 a.m. ET/10:10 a.m. CT on hole 1. Porter, Futrell and Anderson begin at 11:19 a.m. ET/10:19 a.m. CT on hole 10.

Over the last year, Camp Creek underwent a full re-grassing of the golf course to a new state-of-the-art Platinum Paspalum. The installation of new G-angle bunker sand to all the bunkers also highlighted another major upgrade.

The Camp Creek Seminole Invitational begins Sunday, Jan. 17, at 9 a.m. CT with first-round tee times. Round two starts on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 18, at 9 a.m., and the third and final round begins on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 7:30 a.m.

Spectators are allowed for the three-day event, with admission being free.

Florida State Men’s Golf’s full 2021 spring schedule will be announced in the coming days.
