TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Men’s Golf gets ready for its second tournament of the spring season, competing at the Watersound Invitational held at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course from Feb. 20-22 in Watersound, Fla.
Competing for the Seminoles are Michael Sakane, Calvin Sierota, Frederik Kjettrup, Brett Roberts and Dan Bradbury. Sakane begins FSU’s opening round at 10:50 a.m. ET/9:50 a.m. CT on Sunday.
Florida State hopes to duplicate its spring-opening tournament performance earlier this week at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, where it came back in the final round to win and shoot 16-under overall.
Bradbury sparked the Seminoles by placing third in Mobile, carding a 7-under 209.
The Watersound Invitational includes every ACC team as well as Alabama and Arkansas. Shark’s Tooth is a par-72, 7,202-yard course that should challenge a talented field.
According to the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll, there are five teams ranked in the Top 25 competing in this year’s field: No. 5 North Carolina, No. 6 Arkansas, No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 15 Notre Dame and No. 17 Georgia Tech.
Kjettrup continues to lead the Seminoles in scoring average extending from the fall season, shooting 71.92. Bradbury is just behind at 72.08.
Live scoring for all three rounds of the Watersound Invitational can be found on Golfstat.com.
Following this week’s tournament, FSU continues with the Cabo Collegiate held Feb. 27-March 1 in Cabo, Mexico.
