WEST POINT, Miss. (Seminoles.com) – The 18th-ranked Florida State Men’s Golf Team is tied for 16th at the Mossy Oak Collegiate through nearly two rounds of play at the Mossy Oak Golf Course hosted by Mississippi State.
Tough weather conditions brought many scores up higher through the first round, as the Seminoles climbed from a spot in last place to what has been a better second round. Because of darkness, play was suspended in the second round and will continue on Tuesday morning.
Florida State is 18-over after shooting 17-over through the first round, but has improved greatly by being just 1-over so far in the second. Florida State’s five starters have between 3-4 holes left in the second round.
Vanderbilt leads all schools at 16-under in the tournament.
Frederik Kjettrup (+3) and Michael Sakane (+3) each are tied for 50th to lead the Seminoles. Kjettrup shot an uncharacteristic 77 in the opening round but is trending toward a round under par in the second.
Sakane opened with a first-round 75 and is even thus far in the second.
Brett Roberts (+6) is tied for 69th while Dan Bradbury (+7) is tied for 77th. Cole Anderson is tied for 88th at 10-over.
Florida State will tee off on Tuesday in a shot-gun format beginning at 9 a.m. ET/8 a.m. CT.
