Men’s Tennis Heads to Louisville to Take on the Cardinals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The 27th ranked Florida State men’s tennis team (13-5, 3-2) head back on the road this weekend to take on Louisville (12-7, 1-4) on Friday, March 22nd at 3:30 pm.

The Seminoles are 6-0 all-time against Louisville with four of those wins under head coach Dwayne Hultquist. The Cardinal are led by the middle of their lineup. Freshman Sergio Ramirez and senior Federico Gomez are tied for the team lead with 10 singles wins apiece. Ramirez is 6-0 on court four and 4-1 on court five. Gomez is 2-0 on court three, 5-1 on court four and 3-1 on court five.

LAST TIME OUT
Florida State earned two ACC wins, including a 7-0 sweep of Boston College and a 4-3 win over No. 11 Notre Dame. Freshman Juan Martin Jalif earned his first two singles win, both were match clinchers.

Against Notre Dame, the Noles lost the doubles point but came back to take a 3-2 lead. Notre Dame tied it up before Jalif clinched the match with a 6-4 third set win on court four.

16 – The Seminoles have been to 16 consecutive NCAA Tournaments (11th longest streak in the nation).
6 – Aziz Dougaz earned his sixth pro doubles title at the beginning of January.

NOLES IN THE POLLS
In the latest Oracle/ITA poll, Florida State comes in at No. 27. This marks the 37th straight week that the Noles have been ranked in the ITA Poll dating back to February 24, 2017.

The Seminoles have one ranked singles players in redshirt senior Lucas Poullain (No. 84) and one ranked doubles pair in Aziz Dougaz/Alex Knaff (No. 60).
