MORGAN JONES EARNS SECOND CAREER ALL-AMERICA HONOR

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Senior guard Morgan Jones has been selected as a Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American, her second consecutive season of earning the honor.

The Jonesboro, Ga., native is the just the seventh Seminole to earn All-America honors in multiple seasons, joining Kiah Gillespie (2019 and 2020), Shakayla Thomas (2016-18), Leticia Romero (2015-17), Adut Bulgak (2015 and 2016), Natasha Howard (2011 and 2014) and Sue Galkantas (1981 and 1982).

Jones’ selection marks the ninth consecutive season a Seminole has been named an All-American. From 2014 to 2022, at least one Florida State student-athlete has been recognized nationally.

The two-time All-American averaged 13.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and shot 46 percent (154-of-335) from the floor last season. She also made 106 free throws in 2021-22, tied for the 20th-most in a single season at FSU and the most since Nicki Ekhomu made 127 in the 2018-19 season.

Jones is one of 42 student-athletes who made the honorable mention All-America Team. Jones is one of 10 ACC players to make either the 10-member All-America Team or the 42-member honorable mention list.

She is also one of 21 All-Americans in Florida State Women’s Basketball’s history. Overall, FSU boasts 39 All-America honors carried out by those 21 players.
