šŸˆ: Nasirildeen Earns Third ACC DB of the Week Honor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – For the third time this season, junior safety Hamsah Nasirildeen was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Back of the Week after his performance Saturday against Alabama State. The Concord, N.C., native led FSU with 11 tackles and returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown in the Noles 49-12 victory.

Nasirildeen’s pick-six against the Hornets was the first defensive touchdown of the season for the Seminoles and the first of his career. He had one of two interceptions against Alabama State and is tied for the team lead with two on the season. His 80-yard return was the 14th-longest interception return for a touchdown in school history.

He is the second ACC player with at least 10 tackles and an interception for a touchdown in a game this season.

Nasirildeen leads FSU with 96 tackles on the season and is on pace to become the first Seminole with over 100 in a season since Reggie Northrup had 122 in 2014. In his past two games, Nasirildeen has 33 tackles after notching 22 at Boston College on November 9. He has five games in 2019 and 10 in his career with at least 10 tackles.

His 96 total tackles are the most for any defensive back in the country and 21 more than the next closest Power Five defensive back.

Florida State plays its season finale at Florida on November 30 at 7:30 p.m. (SEC Network).
