National Girls & Women in Sport Day was organized in 1987 to advance the struggle for equality and access for women in sports and celebrate progress in sports participation. NGWSD’s national sponsors include are the Girl Scouts of the USA, Girls Incorporated, the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport, the Women’s Sports Foundation and YWCA. Florida State Athletics is inviting 200 girls to participate in a special event, prior to the FSU vs. Wake Forest women’s basketball game, on Sat., Feb. 9th to celebrate NGWSD.

To Register: Please complete the information below. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis by mailing to: Florida State Athletics/Attn: Margie Sullivan-NGWSD/P.O. Box 2195/Tallahassee, FL 32316 -OR- faxing to 850.645.0073. You may also download this form on www.seminoles.com and fax back. The event is only open to the first 200 girls whose applications are received by February 8th. All participants must have a game ticket (see flier information on the opposite side). The first 200 girls will receive confirmation and more details via phone or email.

Event Information: The pregame event will provide the opportunity for young girls to learn more about National Girls & Women in Sport Day. The event will be held SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH, 12-1PM at the FSU Center of Professional Development (across form the Leon County Civic Center). Attendees will meet and eat LUNCH with FSU female student athletes and others and will also receive a SPECIAL GIVEAWAY ITEM AND OTHER GIFTS! Inflatable games and activities will be open after the event from 1-2pm and the game starts at 2pm. All applicants that are not able to participate due to space limitations, are invited to take part in the inflatable game and activities and attend the basketball game at the Leon County Civic Center.
