TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Coming off a winning weekend at the FSU Invitational, the men’s and women’s cross country teams head to Terre Haute, Indiana for the Pre-Nationals. This year’s meet is hosted by Indiana State University which offers a newly designed women’s 6K course. This will also be the sight of the NCAA National Championships on November 20th.
Florida State’s women’s and men’s cross country teams rank No. 12 and No. 27 in their respective national polls this week as released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. In addition to the Seminoles, 44 of the top 60 teams in the nation will run at the Pre-Nationals this weekend.
The Pre-Nationals race assignments were released Thursday (Oct. 12) afternoon and feature 87 women’s teams and 86 men’s teams. The schools are divided into blue, white and open divisions with the first race beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The women will compete in the blue race at 11:00 a.m. which, including Florida State, features ten nationally ranked teams, including No. 1 Stanford, No. 6 BYU, No. 7 Princeton and No. 10 Providence. The men will also run in the blue race at 12:10 p.m. against ten other nationally ranked teams, including No. 4 Colorado, No. 7 Arizona and No. 10 Oklahoma State.
11:00 a.m. – Women’s 6,000 Meter Blue Race
11:35 a.m. – Women’s 6,000 Meter White Race
12:10 p.m. – Men’s 8,000 Meter Blue Race
12:50 p.m. – Men’s 8,000 Meter White Race
1:30 p.m. – Women’s 6,000 Meter Open Race
2:05 p.m. – Men’s 8,000 Meter Open Race
