The Florida State men’s tennis team has hit the road and arrived in Atlanta on Wednesday for the First and Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. The team gets ready to play Mississippi State on Friday morning. Get an inside look from seniors Vahid Mirzadeh (Wellington, Fla.) and Owen Long (Tallahassee, Fla.) about today’s activities.

Hey there everyone who’s tuning in to this blog!

Today was a very long day that started with me waking up at 6:30 am to go eat breakfast with the team. We had a practice session at good ole Scott Speicher at 8:30 am till about 9:30 am, then we showered up and loaded our vans with luggage to head on to the ATL!

Fortunately Blake (Davis) and I were in the “cool” car a.k.a. Maryjane’s car (our sports information director). It took us about 5 hours to get to the ATL and went straight to the Georgia Tech tennis courts for a quick practice session. After the practice we checked into our hotel, The Hilton, which is extremely nice and has a whopping 25 floors at least!

After we settled into our hotel, we headed downstairs for an early dinner so we gave ourselves time to get to the legendary Turner Field, Home of the Atlanta Braves, and catch their game against the Washington Nationals! It was a fun night at the game and good for the team to relax a bit before we get ready for battle with Mississippi State on Friday. Now I’m in my room just relaxing and watching ESPN before I go to sleep!

Take Care

Good evening Seminole fans,

We just finished up day one here in Atlanta for our 1st and 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament. We started off the day by having a great breakfast at Moore Athletic center then we headed to Scott Speicher tennis center to get a quick practice in before we got on the road to Atlanta. The drive up was quite entertaining, after I woke up from my 2 hour nap I listened to Paul Tschida (our athletic trainer), Connor Smith, and Jordan Kelly-Houston sing along to Miley Cyrus. We were also sporting our awesome Neon Deion shirts in honor of the legendary Deion Sanders. As soon as we got to Atlanta we went over to the courts at Georgia Tech and got a light hit in to get the travel out of us. We then came back to our hotel in the heart of downtown Atlanta where we showered up and went to a Braves game. The game was exciting as we got to see some phenomenal athletes. I am now back in my hotel room about to get some rest but before I do I am going to show Blake Davis how to hit a proper golf swing and prove to him that I am the better player.

Goodnight Nole Nation
