Beach Heads to Boca Raton for FAU Beach Bash in Paradise

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The top-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (13-0) heads to Boca Raton, Fla. this weekend to compete in the FAU Beach Bash in Paradise. The Seminoles will play two of their four matches against ranked opponents. FSU takes on No. 14 Stetson (11:00 am) and Florida Gulf Coast (1:00 pm) on Friday, March 19 and UAB (9:00 am) and No. 12 FAU (1:00 pm) on Saturday, March 20.

FSU is a combined 35-0 against their opponents this weekend and enters the FAU Beach Bash in Paradise event ranked No. 1 or the first time in program history. The Seminoles have been ranked in the top-5 in 47 of the 53 AVCA top-20 rankings since beach volleyball became an NCAA sport in 2016. Florida State has been in the top-7 in all 53 polls.

Florida State opens the weekend at 11 am on Friday, March 19 against No. 14 Stetson. Florida State is 13-0 all-time against Stetson and 5-0 against the Hatters at a neutral site. Florida State has surrendered one court in each of their last six meetings with Stetson.

The Garnet and Gold complete day one of the FAU Beach Bash against Florida Gulf Coast at 1 pm. FSU is also undefeated against the Eagles, with a perfect 2-0 record.

The Seminoles begin play on Saturday, March 20 at 9 am against UAB. Florida State is 9-0 against UAB and has only surrendered one court to the Blazers in their nine meetings.

FSU caps off play for the weekend at 1 pm on March 20 against tournament host and No. 12 FAU. Florida State is 11-0 all-time against the Owls. The two teams earlier this season in the LSU Tiger Beach Challenge. FSU won 4-1 with wins on courts 2-5.
