Florida State won two games at Notre Dame, ranked as high as No. 2 in the country, last week. The Seminoles took the opening game, 5-2, behind another strong outing from Parker Messick. Jack Anderson earned his third save of the season and Elijah Cabell hit his 12th home run of the season.

Cabell enters Tuesday with an eight-game hitting streak. His home run against the Irish was FSU’s only long ball of the series.

The Noles and Irish played a doubleheader Saturday to wrap up the series. Notre Dame took game one before the Seminoles, led at the plate by Nico Baldor, won game two and the series. Baldor made his first start of the season and was 3-for-3 with a walk, HBP, three doubles and four RBI. The hits and RBI were career highs for Baldor, who became the first Seminole in four seasons with three doubles in a game.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Ross Dunn will start Wednesday’s game, his first start as a Seminole.

Florida Gulf Coast comes into Tallahassee after winning a series against Jacksonville this weekend. The FGCU program is led by Dave Tollett, which has been the only coach in the 19-year history.

FSU is 9-4 all-time against the Eagles, but the teams have not met since 2017, when FSU won back-to-back games in Tallahassee.
