No. 2 Beach Volleyball Heads To California

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The second-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (21-0) takes its program-best 21-0 start to California this weekend for two matches against No. 1 USC (12-0) and two matches against No. 4 UCLA (11-1).

The Seminoles begin play in California on Saturday, April 3 at USC. FSU plays the Women of Troy at 1 pm and 4 pm EST. Florida State is 4-12 all-time against USC and 2-3 against Southern Cal on their home courts. The last time the Garnet and Gold defeated USC was during the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles defeated USC 3-1 in the first round.

On Sunday, April 4, Florida State heads over to UCLA’s campus for a pair of matches against the Bruins at 1 and 4:30 pm EST. The Seminoles are 7-8 against UCLA and 0-1 on UCLA’s home courts. Florida State’s last win over UCLA also came in the 2018 NCAA Tournament when the Noles beat the Bruins 3-1 in the second round.

Florida State is off to its best start in school history, 21-0. The Seminoles are 33-1 dating back to the beginning of last season. FSU currently has four of the 10 players in the country that are still unbeaten as Kate Privett, Sara Putt and Maddie Anderson are all 21-0. Jenna Johnson is 18-0. Putt and Anderson enter the week being named the CCSA Pair of the Week after their performance together last weekend.
