Florida State is hoping to add a few more statement wins to its potential NCAA Tournament resume. FSU defeated then-No. 14 Notre Dame in a thrilling five-setter on March 12, took down a quality UCF squad on Feb. 26 and earned a hard-fought road win at No. 11 Miami back in the fall on Oct. 15, 2020.
With senior middle blocker Taryn Knuth returning to the team in the spring, the Seminoles own the most spring wins by an ACC team with nine (9-1 overall). Knuth leads all ACC student-athletes in hitting percentage (.540) and ranks second in blocks per set (1.49).
Despite ending its nine-match win streak last weekend vs. No. 13 Louisville, redshirt senior setter Olivia Dailey put forth another quality match with 32 assists, nine digs and two service aces. Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Morgan Chacon recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs.
FSU hopes to snap Pitt’s six-match win streak in the series, while also trying to break a two-match skid to UNC.
The Seminoles end their regular season next weekend when they host Syracuse on Thursday, April 1, at 5 p.m., then face NC State on Saturday, April 3, at 1 p.m.
