Game Notes vs. Duke

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 7 Florida State (27-6, 10-5 ACC) resumes conference play on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium for the first time in three weeks as the Seminoles host Duke (21-14, 8-7 ACC) for a three-game series beginning Friday, April 12 at 6:00 p.m.

Saturday’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., while Sunday’s game time has been changed to 11:00 a.m.

The Noles are 5-1 at home against league foes this year, while the Blue Devils sit 6-6 away from Durham including 3-3 on the road in ACC play. Duke enters the series winners of three in a row and nine of its last 10 including back-to-back series victories in the ACC over Boston College and Georgia Tech.

The Seminoles own a record of 68-19 all-time against the Blue Devils and are 36-7 when playing Duke at home. FSU has swept the last seven three-game series from Duke at home with the Blue Devils last win in Tallahassee coming on May 5, 1994 (5-4).

Florida State has won seven in a row and 26 of the last 29 games in the series. Ten of the last 29 games have been decided by three runs or less.

Last year, the Seminoles swept the Blue Devils in Durham outscoring Duke 20-5. The FSU pitching staff posted a team ERA of 1.67 striking out 26 Blue Devil hitters in 27 innings of work. Offensively, Florida State had eight different players register two or more hits combined in the series. Defensively, the Seminoles committed just one error in 116 fielding chances.

Saturday: FSU – LHP, Brandon Leibrandt (4-3, 5.54 ERA) vs. Duke – RHP, Drew Van Orden (2-3, 4.14 ERA)
Sunday: FSU – RHP, Scott Sitz (6-0, 0.57 ERA) vs. Duke – RHP, Robert Huber (5-2, 2.47 ERA)

Friday and Sunday’s games will air live ESPN3, while Saturday’s game will be streamed live on Seminoles.com All-Access Player.
