No. 8 Seminoles Welcome Bowling Green for Weekend
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After wrapping up its three-game series with Clemson on Monday, the eighth-ranked Florida State baseball team returns to action on Friday at 6:00 p.m. when the Seminoles (29-13) host Bowling Green (16-28). The remaining games are scheduled for Saturday (6 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
It is the first meeting between the two programs since March 25, 1970, when FSU posted a 17-8 victory.
The Seminoles are 36-13 against current teams from the Mid-American Conference, including a no-hitter against Toledo earlier this season.FSU enters the weekend with a 23-6 record on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium, including series sweeps against Rhode Island, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame. Bowling Green heads to Tallahassee with a 6-16 record on the road.
Redshirt senior Mike Compton (5-3, 4.53 ERA) will start on Friday and face right hander Tyler Anderson (0-0, 5.68). Prior to the game, Compton will be one of 12 student-athletes and one student-manager to receive their degrees from Florida State University President John Thrasher during a special on-field commencement ceremony.

Drew Carlton (5-2, 4.42 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Seminoles on Saturday evening. Carlton is looking for consecutive victories after an 11-2 triumph Clemson, where he hurled seven innings and allowed six hits and one earned run. Meanwhile, Bowling Green will start right hander Zac Carey, who owns a 3-7 record and 5.52 ERA.
The series with the Falcons concludes on Sunday afternoon Cole Sands (3-4, 4.39 ERA) squares off against lefty Andrew Lacinak (2-6, 4.11).
