TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State baseball will host 35 games, including weekend series against Clemson, Virginia, and North Carolina, as part of the 2017 schedule, head coach Mike Martin announced Tuesday morning. The Seminoles will play 17 straight games in April against teams that reached the postseason last year.

“Another very good home schedule,” Martin said of the 2017 slate. “Another challenging schedule. Fans will be very excited with us bringing a number of good teams in this season.”

Florida State will open the season on a seven-game homestand, starting with a three-game series against VCU on February 17-19. The Seminoles will open Atlantic Coast Conference play at home March 10-12 against Boston College, a Super Regional team from 2016.

That is followed by the first of three games against Florida, a March 14 game in Gainesville. The teams will meet at the Baseball Grounds in Jacksonville on March 28, and the Seminoles will host the Gators on April 11.

FSU will leave the state of Florida for the first time against Virginia Tech for a three-game series in Blacksburg, Va., from March 17-19. The following weekend, the Noles will be in South Bend, Ind., for three games against Notre Dame.

From April 7 to April 30, FSU will play 17 consecutive games against teams that played in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, including home series against Clemson (over Easter Weekend) and Virginia, as well as road trips to NC State and Clemson.

The Virginia weekend also begins a string of 10 consecutive home games from April 28-May 14, ending with the final ACC home series at Dick Howser against Wake Forest May 12-14.

The Seminoles have a chance for an extended trip in Louisville to wrap up the season – FSU will play its final weekend series against the Cardinals May 18-20, and the ACC Tournament will begin at Louisville Slugger Field on May 23-28.

Entering his 38th season, Martin and the Seminoles are looking to improve on last season’s Super Regional run. FSU has brought in one of the top recruiting classes in the country, while returning All-American shortstop Taylor Walls and freshman All-American catcher Cal Raleigh, as well as all three of its arms from the Super Regional rotation.

The NCAA Tournament will begin June 2; Super Regionals will start on June 9, and the College World Series will run from June 18-29 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska.
