TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State (19-8) volleyball team fell in three sets (22-25, 22-25, 23-25) to Notre Dame (13-14) Wednesday afternoon at Tully Gymnasium.
In a back and forth first set that saw four lead changes and nine ties, the Fighting Irish were able to pull away in the late stages to take a 1-0, match lead.
The Fighting Irish controlled set two, but the Noles made a late rally with three straight points to make the score 23-22, but Notre Dame shut the door with back-to-back points to take the set.
Set three followed the script of the first two sets, but the Noles had a 22-21 advantage late in the set before the Fighting Irish scored four out of the last five points to take the set and the match.
Khori Louis was the bright spot for the Noles with a team-high nine kills on 13 attempts. Audrey Koenig and Emma Clothier each added six kills. Emery Dupes led FSU with 14 digs,
The Noles will conclude the regular season on Friday night when they take on No. 14 Georgia Tech. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at Tully Gym with the match being broadcasted on ACCNX.
