TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 28-ranked Florida State men’s tennis team travels to Boston College and to No. 12 Notre Dame this weekend. The Boston College match takes place at the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex in Dedham, Ma., Friday at 5:00 pm. The Seminoles first conference match against Notre Dame is Sunday at noon at the Courtney Tennis Center.
“We’re ready for a tough weekend having to play in both the Northeast and Midwest with both matches possibly being played indoors,” said head coach Dwayne Hultquist. “There is a lot of parity in the ACC and it’s always difficult to play on the road. We’ve been competing hard and playing well recently and look to continue it by starting strong in doubles play.”
Boston College is 6-13 this year and is 0-7 in the ACC. Notre Dame holds a 14-8 record this year and is 4-4 in conference play. Greg Andrews is ranked No. 20 in singles for Notre Dame while Quentin Monaghan is No. 89. In doubles play, Andrews and Alex Lawson are ranked 14th.
Florida State has two players ranked in singles with junior Dominic Cotrone coming in at No. 84 and junior Cristian Gonzalez Mendez at No. 100. Cotrone and senior Blake Davis are ranked No. 68 in doubles play.
