BRADENTON, Fla. – The Florida State men’s tennis team finished up day one of the Dick Vitale Collegiate Clay Court Invitation with one singles player and one doubles team remaining.
The day started with one round of doubles play that saw the Seminoles go 1-1. Sophomore Chase Wood and freshman Richard Thongoana defeated Vuk Budic and Noe Khlif of Illinois 6-4. Freshman Bryn Nahrung and junior Enzo Le Seguillon lost 6-2 to William Howells and Axel Nefve of Notre Dame.
All four Seminoles lost their first-round singles match and moved down in the consolation bracket. Le Seguillon was the only to advance to the second round of consolation after defeated ACC foe Juan Paredes of Louisville 8-3.
Play will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. with the doubles quarterfinals. That will be followed by the singles consolation quarterfinals, not before 11:00 a.m.
A portion of all the proceeds will benefit the V Foundation, a foundation that focuses on raising money for Cancer research and admission is free
