ATLANTA, Ga. – Day two of the ITA Southeast Regional saw senior transfer Ana Oparenovic advance to the finals of the consolation singles bracket after earning two wins on Sunday.
Oparenovic opened the day with a 6-2, 7-6(3) win over Annette Goulak of Georgia to advance to the consolation semifinal. Against fourth seed Valeriya Deminova (Georgia Tech) Oparenovic won the first set in a tight one, 7-6. She did not mess around in the second set as she defeated Deminova 6-1 to advance to the consolation finals against Ana Melilo (UNF) at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Junior Carla Touly’s tournament came to an end in the main draw quarterfinals, losing 6-3, 7-6(4) to Marta Gonzalez (Georgia). Junior Andrea Garcia lost her one consolation match to Vivian Wolff (Georgia) 6-1, 6-1
