Oparenovic Earns ACC Co-Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In the first week of the award for the 2019 season Senior Ana Oparenovic won Co-ACC Player of the Week for her performance during the first two weeks of the season.

“In one of if not the toughest conference in the country any time you can snag a weekly award in the ACC speaks volumes to whoever receives the nomination,” said head coach Jennifer Hyde. “Ana has been crushing it since she got to campus in the fall. She continues to set the tone every day with her unrelenting work ethic and complete buy-in. She is having a good time and it is really good to see the labors of her hard work paying off. There is a lot more to come from this senior.”

Oparenovic Earns ACC Co-Player of the Week

In her first year with the team, Oparenovic has already made an impact at the top of the lineup in both singles and doubles. She helped lead the Noles to three victories in the first two weeks of the season, including a 5-2 win over No. 20 UCF.

Oparenovic went 3-0 in singles with a 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over FAU on court three. She followed that up with two wins on court two including a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mercer and a 6-3, 7-5 win over Ksenia Kuznetsova of UCF. Oparenovic went 1-1 in doubles with a dominating 6-0 win over Mercer.

Florida State hosts ITA Kick-off weekend this week as they welcome Tennessee, LSU and Clemson into town. The Noles will take on Tennessee Friday, January 25th at 4 pm and will take on either LSU or Clemson on Saturday.
